18th century style curls or “buckles” (from the French “boucles”) were structured rolls of hair that were pinned into the hair in many different arrangements, as seen in the hairdressing manuals and portraiture of the period.

These extra large Buckle Curls are appropriate for the styles of the late 1770s and 1780s. These curls can be pinned as is onto a finished style or used as forms to easily create curls and rolls in your own hair or for wig styling.

These curls come in a set of FOUR individual curls. Each curl is handcrafted and is made from synthetic hair in the color of your choice, re-enforced with netting, glues and hair spray. They are designed to be secured with regular bobby pins (not included). Buckle curls are approximately 4” long and 2” wide. Dimensions may vary as this is a handcrafted item.
